Exmormonology Ep. 90 ~ The Blame Game

How much power have you given away by blaming someone else for how you feel? Most of us do this all the time. It is so much easier to stay in a constant state of blame, meaning it is everyone else's fault for how we feel. Today I want to talk to you about setting down the blame and leaning into deciding how to take full responsibility for all your emotions.

No other person gets to determine how you think and feel about yourself. Once you learn how to take full responsibility for your thoughts and emotions, you become unstoppable. Before you tell yourself this is too hard, just be open to believing this is possible for you. That is where you start, with the belief that it is possible.

This is why what you think about yourself matters way more than what anyone else thinks of you.

Exmormonology Ep. 72 Finding Yourself (Recorded in New York City)

While I was in NYC I thought it would be fun to record a podcast in Washington Square Park, so I did! You get to hear all the city noises in this podcast. I thought you may like to join me for a little bit of NYC. It is such a fun and electric city. Join me as we talk about how you are not lost.

It is normal for you to feel a bit lost after your mormon faith crisis.

I mean, when your life narrative has been removed and you feel left grappling in the dark, it can feel very lonely and confusing.

Today, I want to talk about what to do about it and how you can start rephrasing this chapter of your life.

Many of us feel like we have to "find ourselves" and that thought alone can be overwhelming.

Where does one look to find themselves? In the back of the spare bedroom closet? Under the throw blanket on the couch?

Nah, that is not how this works.

The answer is quite simple and not as daunting as you may be thinking. Let's have some fun finding yourself!

Exmormonology Ep. 71 Finding The Proof

Researching and staying abreast of all things mormon is a common part of mormon deconstruction. We want to find the perfect proof to show our loved ones how we came to our decision to leave the church.

Or at least make sure we have crossed our Ts and dotted our Is, because, you know...our eternal salvation and all.

Makes sense, right?

Let's talk about why we do this and when it may be time to stop, or at least reduce the time spent looking.

Because at the end of the day, this is about you trusting yourself, for maybe the first time ever.
